Colored Chandeliers
One of the most appealing trends in lighting are colored chandeliers. There are two different ways to work this trend in your home. One way is by choosing a chandelier with colored crystal adornments. Crystal can be colored to your specifications. Although there are already lots of pre-made colored crystal chandeliers you can also have them custom made to suit your exact preferences. Some chandeliers feature both clear and colored crystal for a sophisticated new take on an old classic. The second way to use a colored chandelier in your home is with colored bulbs.
Any chandelier can work with colored bulbs if they are compatible with it. If you don't want something as intricate as colored crystal but also don't want colored bulbs, you can add a splash of color to any candelabra style chandelier with lamp shades. They look just like shades for table lamps but are substantially smaller. They fit on chandeliers of a certain type and come in many different varieties. By changing the shades on your chandelier you can add a splash of color to any room. Shades come in many varieties including satin, silk and even glass.
Another way to add color is with a beaded chandelier. Beaded chandeliers are usually swag or candelabra style and feature rows of glittering beads in various colors. For an old-fashioned look choose beads of amber or smoky topaz. Brighter colors and linear designs look more modern, so keep that in mind if you want a contemporary look. Basically a colored chandelier is any lighting device which hangs from the ceiling and is done in a color besides clear crystal. These lamps range from simple to sophisticated and everything in between.
To find a wide range of colored chandeliers you can browse the Internet. You may also find this type of lighting at your local home improvement store or lighting boutique. There are even companies who will custom design a chandelier in any color or colors you want. Before buying your chandelier make sure you know what size chandelier your home can accommodate. This requires measuring and finding out how much weight the ceiling area can hold. Traditional chandeliers require professional installation, while plug in and miniature styles can usually be done on your own.
